Today’s Testo: Lasers, Submarines and the North Pole | Testo Limited Blog

Today's Testo
No day is a new day, the past is just as important as the present and to grow, evolve and move forward we need to learn from what has come before. This approach applies almost universally to all areas of life, not least to science, technology and innovation.

Among other things (including the sinking of a submarine and the first flight over the North Pole) on this date (9th May) in 1962 a team of scientists from MIT successfully bounced a laser beam off of the moon for the first time. This first lunar ranging experiment was one of the most precise long distance measurements ever made.

Moving forward from this historical event to the here and the now, we can see lasers being used in a huge number of different settings for a variety of purposes. Due to the high level of accuracy associated with the use of lasers, they can provide a significant advantage when you know that you need to ensure pin point accuracy.

Here at Testo, we make use lasers to give our measurement instruments the highest possible level of accuracy and to make taking readings as simple as possible. We have a great range of infrared thermometers which in themselves provide superbly accurate temperature readings, and in order to make sure that you reliably know where on your target the temperature reading is coming from, they are equipped with laser sighting devices.

The extensive range of Testo thermometers means that almost regardless of your required application, Testo will have the thermometer that you need. From the Testo 826, to the Testo 835 – If you need laser accuracy for your temperature measurement, Testo have got it covered. For every job, there’s a Testo.
