As the well known phrase goes; ‘the first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem’. So here we go…

Hello everyone, our name is Testo Limited and we are addicted to measurement. This has been an ongoing problem now since about 1957 and it is growing everyday. All that we think about and all the we do from dawn until dusk is measurement. All kinds of measurement, of more or less any parameter that you could care to think of, we measure it. That is the extent of our problem.

We spend all day, every day, thinking about measurement and trying new ways and new technologies to improve our measurements – the more accurate, the better. Once you see that here at Testo our lives are so undividedly dedicated to measurement, you will understand our almost irrepressible joy at the announcement of an upcoming 3 part documentary by the BBC dedicated solely to the exploration and understanding of measurement – “Precision: The measure of all things“.


The final part of this superbly informative 3-part series airs this evening on BBC Four at 9pm and will be specifically looking at the parameters of light, heat and electricity (some of our favourites) and is well worth a watch for anyone similarly afflicted by a love (or even a passing interest) in measurement. We’ll be tuning in for our sweet hit of measurement and, without wanting to peer pressure anyone into their first taste of measurement, we recommend that you do same.

We can only hope that with this exposure of the topic, people such as ourselves (completely fixated on measurement) will become more openly accepted in society.
