Today’s Testo: Action expresses priorities | Testo Limited Blog

No day is a new day, the past is just as important as the present and to grow, evolve and move forward we need to learn from what has come before. This approach applies almost universally to all areas of life, not least to science, technology and innovation.

On this day in history the world saw the birth of Mahatma Gandhi. Well known for his non-violent protests and his peaceful methods of highlighting the injustices of society, he is revered by many as a figurehead for self-control, strength and change for the better.

It was his ability to identify areas that desperately needed to change and push tirelessly until he achieved this goal (regardless of hardships) that endeared him to the world and which makes his story so inspirational to many around the globe. It is this ability to identify issues, recognise the need for change and seeing this change through which we need to learn from and bring into our own lives today. If we can manage to look at things objectively and (having removed hardship as a factor) see what we need to change in order to improve then we would all be on the road to better times.

The relevance of this might not be immediately obvious, however if you are considering the possibility of upgrading your current instrumentation or broadening your service range to improve your business (but have thus far not committed), then the message should be clear. Action, not plans, is what defines your commitment to change. So upgrade your refrigeration manifold from analogue to digital, add thermographic surveying to your companies portfolio and “be the change that you want to see in the world”.

You can be like Gandhi. When you look at things and see the change to come, not the obstacles that might stand in your way.
