Gas Safety Week: Is your engineer registered? | Testo Limited Blog

If you hadn’t yet heard it is Gas Safety Week this week; 16 – 22nd September.

This week long initiative has been organised and coordinated by Gas Safe register in order to raise the public awareness of gas safety issues and concerns. The more information that people have, the better equipped they will be to deal with the dangers and stay safe.

Gas safe register is the official list of gas engineers who are qualified to work safely and legally on gas appliances. By law all gas engineers must be on the gas safe register. It has replaced CORGI registration.

To check that an engineer is registered, every engineer carries a Gas Safe Register ID card, with their own unique licence number. Before any gas work is carried out always ask for the engineer’s ID card and check they are qualified for the work you need doing.

All Gas Safe Registered engineers are listed on the website – http://www.gassaferegister.co.uk - or you can call 0800 408 5500 to speak to an advisor. Confirming that the your engineer is qualified to carry your work is one of the first and most important steps to ensuring your safety – Don’t make assumptions.
