Limited time only Testo Special Offers: Don’t miss out
One glance out of the window will confirm that our Summer is undeniably dwindling and ebbing away from us, a little further every day. However as we begin our slope steepens and our descent begins into the inevitable, bitter darkness and drizzle that is the British Winter, we must maintain our resolve by clinging to what rays of light and happiness that we can.In order to survive, we must search the bleak horizon that we are confronted with, find the final few dying rays of light and focus on them. Focus on the warmth and the joy that they contain and use this to carry you through one dark day at a time. Whether it’s a fond memory of a summer BBQ, the fact that slippers will soon be an acceptable form of footwear once again, or the exciting news of a Special Money Saving Offer on Thermal Imaging Cameras – these rays are what will sustain you when the rain, the wind and the snow (if you believe the experts) sets in.
Here at Testo we are excited to be able to say that despite the impending Winter months we are still shining – we are the iridescent light source, burning bright that will keep you warm in the Winter months to come.
Our Summer offer on Testo 885 thermal imaging cameras is still going strong and until the 30th November 2013 you still have the opportunity to make a saving of over £1,500 when you buy either of our 885 thermal imaging camera special kits.

Today’s Testo: Action expresses priorities | Testo Limited Blog
No day is a new day, the past is just as important as the present and to grow, evolve and move forward we need to learn from what has come before. This approach applies almost universally to all areas of life, not least to science, technology and innovation.
On this day in history the world saw the birth of Mahatma Gandhi. Well known for his non-violent protests and his peaceful methods of highlighting the injustices of society, he is revered by many as a figurehead for self-control, strength and change for the better.
It was his ability to identify areas that desperately needed to change and push tirelessly until he achieved this goal (regardless of hardships) that endeared him to the world and which makes his story so inspirational to many around the globe. It is this ability to identify issues, recognise the need for change and seeing this change through which we need to learn from and bring into our own lives today. If we can manage to look at things objectively and (having removed hardship as a factor) see what we need to change in order to improve then we would all be on the road to better times.
The relevance of this might not be immediately obvious, however if you are considering the possibility of upgrading your current instrumentation or broadening your service range to improve your business (but have thus far not committed), then the message should be clear. Action, not plans, is what defines your commitment to change. So upgrade your refrigeration manifold from analogue to digital, add thermographic surveying to your companies portfolio and “be the change that you want to see in the world”.
You can be like Gandhi. When you look at things and see the change to come, not the obstacles that might stand in your way.

Gas Safety Week: Technology is your friend, take care of it | Testo Limited Blog
There are always two sides to every story and when talking about Gas Safety this maxim certainly holds true.
Both from the consumers point of view and the engineers side, there are certain steps which can be taken in order to make sure that potential risks and hazards are kept to an absolute minimum. The consumers involvement, as we have seen and heard over the last few days of Gas Safety Week, comes largely in the form of awareness and vigilance.
It is important that you know how to check that your gas engineer is registered and qualified to perform the work that you need doing. Don’t be afraid to check your engineer’s credentials, they should have nothing to hide. This coupled with the awareness of the warnings signs of a potential gas hazard will provide you with a solid base of knowledge to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you. (See our posts from earlier this week.)
On the other side of the coin; as a gas engineer there are also steps that you can take to ensure that you and your work are as safe as possible. One of the most important factors to consider is the regular upkeep and maintenance of your tools, instruments and analysers. A flue gas analyser, for example, requires routine service and calibration to ensure that the readings it provides are as accurate as possible, to remove any margin for error.
Here at testo we are pleased to say that we are a holistic, ‘total supplier’, meaning we can equip you with top of range, high spec technology and also provide a full range servicing and calibration options. Not only then do we provide the precision instruments that you need to get the job done but also the means to make sure that that precision is continued year on year too.

Gas Safety Week: Is your engineer registered? | Testo Limited Blog
If you hadn’t yet heard it is Gas Safety Week this week; 16 – 22nd September.
This week long initiative has been organised and coordinated by Gas Safe register in order to raise the public awareness of gas safety issues and concerns. The more information that people have, the better equipped they will be to deal with the dangers and stay safe.
Gas safe register is the official list of gas engineers who are qualified to work safely and legally on gas appliances. By law all gas engineers must be on the gas safe register. It has replaced CORGI registration.
To check that an engineer is registered, every engineer carries a Gas Safe Register ID card, with their own unique licence number. Before any gas work is carried out always ask for the engineer’s ID card and check they are qualified for the work you need doing.
All Gas Safe Registered engineers are listed on the website – http://www.gassaferegister.co.uk - or you can call 0800 408 5500 to speak to an advisor. Confirming that the your engineer is qualified to carry your work is one of the first and most important steps to ensuring your safety – Don’t make assumptions.
